Project Lead - Interim

As the global body for Occupational Health and Safety, IOSH sets and maintains the professional standard through its Membership Grades. It is important that the requirements for each grade are aligned with the needs of employers, so IOSH conducted a review of its grades through consultation with members and other stakeholders. The review led to recommendations for change.

Working as an Interim with the Director of Professional Services, along with colleagues in Communications and Governance, I developed an engagement strategy and led a year-long campaign harnessing print and digital channels alongside the members’ forum. The goal was to inspire all stakeholders to get involved in the consultation and vote at the AGM.

Members voted in favour of the changes to Membership Grades and IOSH’s Board of Trustees praised the project team for its approach to consultation, engaging communications and disciplined working.

Marcie brought much needed experience, strategic thinking and capacity to this project. We were working on a tight deadline and she hit the ground running, leading us through it with energy, clear plans and second to none implementation. Marcie’s ability to flex between strategic and operational involvement was particularly helpful and she went above and beyond to ensure success. I knew I could depend on Marcie and I really enjoyed working with her.
