Is your business at a crossroads and in need of a fresh approach to comms and marketing?

Let me be your guide and critical friend.

Hi, I am Marcie

I work with the founders of small businesses who are ready to invest in scaling up their communications and marketing and or who simply need a fresh perspective.

Having worked in and with companies at every stage, from start-ups to global corporates, I know how to scale sensibly. I combine strategic senior-level experience with a hands-on understanding of the realities of running a small business.

With a sharp focus on the business goals, I draw on over 30 years of experience and guide a strategic approach to creating a fit-for-purpose comms function with the right resource and systems focused on delivering an achievable, measurable plan. I am not about doing the doing – I add value by setting the right direction and helping companies build the right capacity.

Some clients are looking for a critical friend to help them work out where to focus their effort. Others have a robust business plan and are ready to grasp the nettle to fuel growth. There is no ‘one size fits all’. Whatever the starting point, I listen and adjust my approach accordingly.

Why founder-led small businesses?

Founders often bring a different flavour to a leadership team. Apart from the deep knowledge which comes from building something from the bottom up, they are vested, both emotionally and financially.
This makes them highly motivated to succeed. The combination of knowledge and motivation can be powerful for brand building and awareness raising. Working with founders requires sensitivity at times, but for those with an open mind, a readiness to invest in comms and marketing and a clear focus on growth, there are exciting opportunities.
No business is too small in my book. I have worked with ‘solopreneurs’, early-stage seed-funded companies and small family businesses, as well as more established SMEs. Each presents different challenges and opportunities. That’s what I love about my work.
